Description:

An introduction and hands on learning experience of the wet plate collodion process. Learn the skills, science, and equipment necessary to create your own authentic tintype photographs, and walk away with original works of art created by you. A significant portion of the instruction will be devoted to guiding you through pouring, photographing with a large format camera (4x5), and developing tintype plates. Additionally you will learn the historic varnishing process for plate preservation and the modern process of creating digital copies of your best tintype images.

Important Notice:

By submitting payment, you acknowledge and accept the full workshop fee. If a substantial conflict prevents your attendance, you may request a credit and reschedule for a future workshop or opt for a refund of $275 from the initial payment of $325, with $50 retained as an inconvenience fee.

Safety Advisory:

This workshop involves the handling of potentially hazardous chemicals such as silver nitrate and ether, as well as the use of open flames. Stringent safety measures will be implemented, but if you are uncomfortable with these conditions, have respiratory issues, or require oxygen, this workshop may not be suitable for you.
